Daybook Posts

I read an interview in Poets & Writers magazine, one of my fave publications, about burning or otherwise destroying old journals. I couldn’t imagine doing this to the boxes of old daybooks I have. For decades, I’ve been using a daybook to document the world around me, record things I’ve heard other people say (most of it wise), and to suss out the thoughts, stories, poems, cartoons, book ideas that swirl around in my head. I’ve tapped them for writing memoir. And yet, they mostly sit in boxes in the closet of my writing/drawing room. I fret about house fires.

So, I’m going to start posting little tidbits from these books. I’m thinking weekly, on Sunday, to start each week with a mind-tickling thought. They are posted on My Blog and tagged at Daybook Pages. I’d love to share excerpts from other people’s daybooks. Let me know if you would like me to post something.
